Farm Kitchen and Store


The Kitchen and Farm Store at Little Ghent Farm are ready for business. Like the other buildings at the farm they were designed by Neil and Adam at Neil Pelone Architects with a good amount of input from us as to what we needed and what would work in the context of the farm overall. Construction is by Bill Stratton who joined us for the design stage which is not a typical approach but having his practical expertise influence things early on has been great. Credit also to our friend Haillie Chen who was there right at the beginning and moved part way through the process to follow her dreams in San Francisco. We miss her but her spirit is definitely here on the farm.

Together we all brought this farm back to life, carefully building back materials from the old into the new so some of the legacy would live on.

In the next few weeks, once we have  the official word back from the Department of Agriculture and Markets our certified kitchen we will be fully open for business. Those driving by on Snyder Road or County Route 22 will be able to make an easy diversion to our roadside store.In the beginning we’ll be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.  Just us call at other times if you would like to place a special order or need something: 518 392 0804.

Here’s what you might find in the store at the moment:

  • Farm produced eggs, whole chickens, pork incl. sausages, bacon, chops, ribs, hams, roasts and garlic
  • Homemade baked goods: fresh bread, cookies, granola, crackers, an ever changing but limited selection of cakes and cookie
  • Soups, stocks, some food to go
  • Dog treats
  • In the future – we will  have our own honey, jams and preserves … who knows what else – we’re open to suggestions!
