Just in time for the season DO Preserve is here in print with eighty recipes organized in chapters covering the use of sugar, vinegar, alcohol, oil, salt and drying to capture the intense flavor of freshly picked seasonal produce.

This book is a collaborative effort between three friends (Anja, Jen and Mimi) who have each cooked for the DO Lectures – an annual gathering in Wales, Australia, Costa Rica and the USA featuring inspirational talks from passionate, creative people with the simple idea that people who do things, can inspire the rest of us to go and do things too. The lecture series gave rise to the DO Book Company which publishes books written by speakers (and cooks!) from the Do Lectures. Each book is a concise, practical guide that make it easier to do stuff including beekeeping, gardening, building brands, designing, story-telling and finding focus.

In Do Preserve Anja, Jen and Mimi combine their experience as cooks, caterers, foragers and farmers and share techniques for recipes handed-down through the generations as well as deliciously inventive recipes from their own kitchens. The photographs are by Richard made here on the farm in Ghent and in Wales at Jen’s two acre homestead. Here’s what the handy little book will help you figure out:
