We started with three Berkshire then eight Tamworth pigs. This year we have a dozen pigs including crosses between Old Spot, Berkshire, Red Wattle and Large Black. These are heritage breeds known for their foraging ability, hardiness and taste. They are fed organic feed and plenty of extra treats such as bread, garden scraps and foraged hickory nuts and apples from the farm. Our pigs enjoy their own extensive space roaming in the woods between our fields with springs, wallow holes and sheltered areas.
Various cuts of meat are available in the store including sausages, bacon, ham and chops. Half pigs are also available at certain times.
